Below is the detailed day-by-day itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda and take a Kigali City Tour
On your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will find when the agent from 4×4 Rwanda Ltd already waiting for you and from there you will do pass through the car rental contract, inspect the vehicle before you sign the contract. After signing the car rental contract, you will be free to start your trip by transfer to Kigali for a short city tour to visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Ground, the handicrafts shops, the museum, and many other fascinating places in Kigali. in the evening you will have your dinner and overnight at The Manor Hotel, Kigali.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the second day, you will have breakfast at the hotel where you spent the night in Kigali, you will hit the road transfer to Volcanoes National Park in the northwestern part of the country and home to the rare and endangered mountain gorillas. You will have a relaxed afternoon at the lodge as you wait for the next day’s gorilla trekking in the park. you can spend the overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, or Kinigi Guest House in Volcanoes National Park.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will have to drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a short briefing from the park rangers before you continue, and enter the forest in search of the mountain gorillas in this thick jungle. The time taken while tracking gorillas in the forest is unpredictable, but it may take 2 – 8 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas in search of food and shelter. You will be allowed a maximum of one hour in the presence of mountain gorillas. Take photographs and enjoy the baby gorillas as they swing from one tree branch to another. Gorilla trekking is the best wildlife experience in Africa.
After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and then you will drive back to Kigali for last-minute shopping and then transfer to the airport in case your departure flight is scheduled on that day.
